Hill: Arthur's Seat
Date: Saturday 17th January 2026
Company: Myself and Ann-Marie
I ascended Arthur's Seat today as part of a much longer sight-seeing
walk around the city of Edinburgh. This was my sixth ascent of this great
wee hill.
There are many variations for an ascent/descent of Arthur's
Seat. Today, I ascended via an ascent route I had undertaken previously, on
my second ascent of the hill. However, today's descent route, towards
Dunsapie Loch, I had not undertaken previously.

Approaching the summit:
It
didn't take long to reach the summit area. I didn't stay long at the summit
as there were far too many people atop the hill. I like my hills
significantly quieter. Perhaps my favourite ascent of this hill was the one
I undertook at night with my headtorch encountering only a few other people
during the walk

On
reaching Dunsapie Loch, we walked round Holyrood Park to St. Margaret's Loch
and then undertook a lovely walk around Edinburgh.
